I wanted to post a pic of the new statues I got for my altar.  They look awesome on it!  I have them circled up, it looks like they're holding hands.  I want to get a tiny cauldron to put in the middle of them.  They just reminded me sooo much of the Maiden/Mother/Crone aspect of the Goddess, I couldn't resist.

Before anyone mentions it, I know they are intended as Christian sculptures.  They've even got a Scripture stamped on the bottom of their feet.  But somehow I don't think Jesus will mind  Wink

I hope the pic comes through...  Roll Eyes

Edit:  The pic didn't come through, so I put a link there instead... that should work!

Brightest Blessings

I Am

A blossoming Green Witch am I,With plant wisdom and magic to share.
A child of the flowers am I,With blossoms budding from my hair.
A friend of the Fairies am I,A crown of leaves and flowers I wear.
A daughter of the Earth am I,Walking Her ways with feet ever bare.
A sister of the waters am I,Flowing wild and free without a care.
At one with the blowing winds am I,Singing softly through the midnight air.
A keeper of the fire am I,Let me kindle your passions if you dare.
Connected in Spirit with You am I,Fused together as one in prayer.

While everyone is right- use what works for you... I'm a visual person.  I like to see examples, so I've attached a pic of my altar.  It's a small dresser/nightstand that I found at Goodwill for around $10.  It has 3 nice sized drawers that I use to hold my candles & incences, some books, and the tools I don't want left out, like my athame, boline, wand, etc.  On top you can see I have my candles.  There's an incense holder and an opal.  I don't have any patrons Gods or Goddesses at the moment, so I have generic male/female symbols.  On the right are my Goddess symbols- a chalice and a corn dolly that was made at Mabon.  On the left is my God symbol- a mushroom.
Best of luck with your altar!

An alter / temple  among other things is a symbolic representation of the world / universe.  So as our understanding  of the world grows so does the alter / temple

I love how this was said because i have heard so many witches say this "an alter is a representation of the world/universe" <---- this is important to understand, at least it was for me on my path.

Blessed be
