The forum chat

I visit the chat on a regular basis hoping to catch someone I've only run into probably 3 people since I've become more active. And I'm wondering why it is very few people talk in the chat. I personally think it would be easier to discuss certain topics within the chat rather than on the forum since it can sometimes be hard to explain things and still remain on topic. When I explain things I tend to go off onto other subtopics which leads me astray from the original topic. I also think the chat makes it easier to get to know people. Well if anybody Fancies a super random conversation that jumps around constantly try to catch me in the chat

Sorry Lupus.  We use to have great chats with many users in there most nights of the week.  Nobody uses it anymore.  I worked damn hard to impliment that and it sits idle most of the time. 

Facebook wins again I guess.

I am one of the ones that used to spend a lot of time in there but of late I seem to be out of sorts with life and personal energy to the extent of lacking in many aspects here and on the outside. I have popped in from time to time but have missed people as they were leaving and they me. I have seen that there are certain times of the year where there were more people at times and less at other times.



I am sorry to have let many loved ones down with my absence here.

I would love to go in chat, but I use an iPad. The iPad makes you hit refresh ( which you have to do constantly) to keep up with chat. My replies were too late. 
I love this devise, but it certainly does have its drawbacks.
( but it does keep what I'm doing more private from that southern babtist minister walking around in the house)

Here are some old regulars that have frequented chat for years (I'm sure I am missing some), but really.. the only one you can find about anymore in there is Firesong and even her appearances have become rare.  The others are mostly gone from chat it seems:

Well, here. I work Monday through Friday 2:30 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. I'll wake up usually around 11:00 in the morning and I go to bed around 2:00-3:00 at night. The weekends are my Fiance's time.. =P But if ANYONE is in chat and there is no one else or you just wanna see me , just PM me and I'll be there as soon as I get it.

If I'm online of course, but I check regularly.

I do pop in when I can, but my wee little baby has buggered my hours quite a bit.  I'll keep on keepin' on, though, and hopefully we'll get a band of regulars started again.

I've popped in from time-to-time as well.  I'd LOVE to chat with everyone!  I'll start checking again as I had kind of given up on it.

Can't wait to start a tangled, confusing, conversation with you Lupus as I tend to ramble as well!

i misses chats.  i was a chatter before i was a poster.

we had good times.

chat population is fluid, members come and go.

i don't go in much cause i not been up to chatting, struggling with lots of stuffs, and when i do pop in, yeah nobody there.  timing is difficult too, seems to be the main complaint.

what if we brainstormed ... maybe post a poll over when people are most often here at witchyway, and maybe try implementing a scheduled chat based on the average traffic time?

purely for example: Wednesdays at 8pm EST or whatever... and if peoples start showing up, and getting comfy, and connect, peoples might be more prone to pop in and stick around....

maybe we can get our chatroom hoppin again.

we always had good times, didn't always have to stick to witchy topics either  **reminisces about bonfires, mallow wars, demerol darts, pink bunny suits and blueberries ( )**

what do youse guys think?  sound like something we can try?

oh, but, aranel does has an unspoken rule for chat - nobody can have the same colour at the same time, and at least while i'm in there, i get the blue!!!

I think it's a matter of poor timing on my part that I miss everyone.    I would Luv to start up a bonfire in chat but it would seem like a fire hazard.   If you go into chat and no one is around there are extinguishers in every corner   .

What we need is for someone to actually *remain* in chat and wait for others for a time.  If users come in and someone is actually in there... naturally conversations will start and others will pop in and join in and not leave etc.  We need people to "take one for the team" and sit it out, not pop in and leave because nobody is in.
