I had a dream last night, in my dream...

I was with my boyfriend at my mom's house in the backyard. We were on my trampoline. I look down at the ground and see a large white snake maybe 5 feet long. It started climbing up the trampoline. I quickly jumped off it cause I was scared. I asked if my bf if he thought it was poisonous, he said it might be but he didn't know. The snake was climbing down the trampoline now. When it got down on the ground it stopped and stared at me. I got the feeling that it didn't want to hurt me. Then its skin changed from white to a reddish brownish diamond back pattern. O-o

I woke up...

Can anyone explain the meaning?

I'm not one who is good at dream interpretation. Bearing that in mind, it may have simply been snake coming to you as a totem/power animal. I would look into some of the basic characteristics of snakes in general and see how they may fit with who you are and whether there may be a compatibility with snake as an animal ally.

I believe that according to papa Freud that snakes represent sexuality and the male anatomy.  This could be that what you see is NOT what you get.

BTW my studies of nature lead me to believe that the white snake is safe but the other sounds like the Famous Diamondback Rattlesnake,  poisonous but usually not fatal. Still no fun for a month at least.

Boa's are often reddish brownish, and although they don't exactly have a diamond shape on their backs, it can appear that way from certain angles. Do either of these look like it?

It looked alot like the second photo.

I read online that snakes are associated with the Egyptian god Thoth and that snakes are a sign of change. Maybe there will be a big change for me in the new year? Its just my guess.

You might want to look into the behavior of boa constrictors too. They're often kept as pets, and though there are more docile snakes, they are not the most "advanced" type of reptile/snake to keep as a pet. I'm not suggesting you go out and get a pet boa, but there should be an abundance of information about them online if you care to see what they require for care and what their personalities and natural habitats are like.

Snakes are considered to be associated with transformation in Shamanic Wicca as well, and were associated with the Goddesses Gaia and Persephone.

Another possibility to consider, is that maybe the snake in your dream was trying to tell you that you need to be more grounded. Since snakes have to travel on their bellies, they are receptive to all of the vibrations of the earth. Maybe you've been spending to time "in the clouds" as it were, and your subconscious was trying to tell you to cut back?

That's a great point! That's the type of thing you can learn about yourself by learning about them! Smiley
