I had this one around a week ago, but it's still bugging me. Hopefully someone here can help decipher it, as my Dreamers Dictionary isn't really adequate...at all. So, here's what I remember:

I was in a car with my dad and sister (at the ages we are now), driving down a street close to our old neighborhood. They were sitting in the front and talking about insurance. We turn a corner and suddenly, instead of the park being on my right, it's the ocean. We continue driving on the road that follows the shoreline. My sister and I are watching people get ready to fo windsurfing and we're she is telling me why it's good that mom and dad don't let us go out to swim in the ocean. I look out again and think about how cold the water must be (since it's winter), but the waver weren't too large and there weren't so many people in the water that it could be considered crowded. As I told her that I didn't understand why they didn't want us swimming, I saw the reason. Swimming in the wave was a 30-foot long shark. It didn't attack anyone, and no one really seemed to be paying it any attention, but it was there. I saw five more between 20 and 30-feet long before my dad stopped the car. It wasn't long before my sister and I had grabbed body boards and were in the water. I kept seeing the sharks in the waves, and a few of them were really close - close enough that we could have been mauled if one of them got the idea to thrash our way, but none of them came near us. A few times I was almost pulled farther out into the ocean by the current, but the undertow never pulled me under, and the sharks never tried to attack.

I'm not really sure what to make of this dream, but it disturbed me enough that it woke me from a sound sleep and I remember it in (what I think is) pretty decent detail...which is rare for me.

Sounds symbolic of leaving your comfort zone and taking risks.  The comfort zone is symbolized by being in the car with your family.  Even the conversation about insurance indicates safety.  The fact you were not attacked by the sharks or pulled under water is probably indicating that you have either had success in a risky venture or that you have confidence you will have success.  This could all be reflective of something like starting a new career, moving somewhere new, or otherwise trying something you never have before.  Are there major changes going on in your life right now?

I started a self-improvement project around a month ago, and I decided two weeks ago that I'm going to run in at least one marathon by the end of the year, so I began training for that. I broke up with my fiance of 5 years back in November. And I don't carry my checkbook anymore in an effort to curb my impulse spending. Those are the biggest changes going on right now.
