Dolphins in trouble

So Sunday I drove up to Cape Cod with my roommate and we went to see if any help was needed with any of the beached dolphins. We apparently go there just in time. They only had about 5 people out there and they were working on one dolphin while another lay struggeling for life. They immediately shoved buckets and rags into our hands. So for 2 hours we collected sea water in our buckets soaked the rags and placed it on the dolphin. More help trickled in as the morning wore on and we were finally able to turn out dolphin on it's stomach. In that time the other dolphin had passed away. So all of their efforts were turned to the dolphin that me and my roommate worked on. I guess help has been a bit spottty, and they haven't even been able to clear away all of the dead dolphins. At one point I took a break from the chaos surrounding the poor dolphin and walked along the beach for a bit and came across several of the dead. All I could think was why? My heart ached for these majestic children of the sea. You'll be happy to hear that we were able to return the remaining dolphin back to the water. I later asked one of the women in charge why it is the dolphins were washing up in such large numbers. Her response to me was they got lost and misjudged the tide. I turned to her and said that isn't possible these creatures know the tide better than any seasoned fisherman. I mentioned to her how the same thing was happening on the west coast with whales. A couple of grey whales and even blue whales have washed up on the beaches of Washington.
She didn't have much to say to that, but all I kept thinking was what if it's our fault? And what if they were after food, and the only place to find anything is in the dagerously shallow waters? What are your thoughts on it??

It would be my best guess that it has something to do with the earth changes we've been experiencing for a few years now. The increase in earthquakes, the tsunamis, etc. Animals usually react to these sort of phenomena, and in the past it has been believed to throw off their sonar. I honestly believe we're in a transition to the world spoken of by Edgar Cayce. He saw the shapes of the continents being very different from what we've lived with all our lifetimes so far (and if I'm not mistaken different climatic zones as well). It's my personal belief that the increase in such phenomena along with the climate change we've been experiencing are just the beginning of many changes to come. If this is the case, is it any wonder such sensitive animals would be thrown for a loop and behaving oddly?

This might give my theory some credence. Found this on facebook after my last post.

I found this article yesterday. This is another reason that has been linked to sea mammals deaths.
"When dead sea mammals started washing ashore on Canada's west coast in greater numbers, marine biologist Andrew Trites was distressed to find that domestic animal diseases were killing them.
Around the world, seals, otters and other species are increasingly infected by parasites and other diseases long common in goats, cows, cats and dogs, marine mammal experts told a major science conference........... "

Thank you all for the information I really hope it's not a disease, I'm looking into seeing if there's been any siesmic activity as of late. And the whole ELF thing is always a possibiblity maybe they decided to bring back into testing who knows? I'm sure the people in charge of taking care of all of this are already doing this. The problem is they don't seem to care to share with the public too much information. And it's driving me bonkers!!

Amazing! I have always considered dolphins and their relatives as people, in fact angels of the sea. The ancient Greeks considered dolphins as messengers of the gods - angels.

In many ways I wonder if they might be more evolved than we are. As sentient beings I see protecting them as much like protecting myself.

There have been studies that prove dolphins could be on the same plain of awareness that we are. Unlike most animals Dolphins have a sense of self. Each dolphin has a name as well. They give themselves a certain call that scientists believe is sort of like having a name. If dolphins are this intellegent, who knows maybe they are more evolved no one knows for certain.
