Merry meet everyone. I'm having a bit of an issue. Ive found my goddess, now I'm looking for a God. I need things to be balanced.
I will take suggestions, but I have to have a certain criteria. I don't like violence. I don't lie ego(not too much at least)
And I like a smidge of emotion.

I know some people don't like mixing Pantheons.. But i need balance, and if that's what it takes, so be it.
By the way (if you don't know, my Goddess is Hecate.) if that help any.
Just ideas so I can do the research, if anyone has any ideas.
Thank you

I'm thinking Dionysus might be worth checking out.

Thank you Thunderwolf. At least I have a starting point now. I've been scratching my head on this for a while now.

I know what you mean, I have that issue as well, except the other way around (found my God but not my Goddess). It's been a while, so I'm getting a little frustrated Smiley
Good luck finding him, I'm sorry i can't help Smiley

It's frustrating, but I don't want to sat " Lord, can you..."so for now, I've been saying "Horned God  will you...."
Because I want to involve both.
I liked the God TW mentioned, but wasnt over the hills so to speak. I am going to read more on him though,.. (I like that he was pirated young and older in different places. ) .. Maybe I was asking for a not so violent God because of my history with violent men, but oh, I don't know..
I will keep looking.

You could try Hades too. I know he seems dark but then again so does Hecate but she isn't a menacing goddess. I think him and Hecate mix well together. Try checking out the stories and myths of Hades.

I do love the story of Hades, just never thought to use him as my male counterpart. Ok.. Now I have some researching to do!
Thank you both!

Hades / Pater Dis is one of the three Great Gods.  He is not a show off but he can be hard. If he has a soft spot it is Persophrine  (sp?)

Another linked to Hecate is Hephaestus the Smith God, little ego and very down to earth, quiet , loyal and has a difficult marriage to Venus.

Hephaestus..... One I haven't heard of... Damn.. I thought I was doing well with my research and names are coming up that I haven't heard of.
This God, Hephaestus, just stood out to me as I read it. Almost like a tug.

Hmmmm.

Thank you, Ken Ra. Sometimes your just a breath of fresh air, with information to boot!
Ok, now, back to researching.
How the hell do I pronounce this Huh?

I'm liking them both, Hades and Haphaestus. I guess this will  work itself out in my head. I just need more sere arch on the both. (wiki is cool but very vague)
Maybe library is next stop.

Thank you guys so much. This can get a little overwhelming. I was trying to take a break from my research, in mourning, but it just makes it worse. Diving into these things helps.

I'm in a very similar situation myself, my goddess is Hestia but I can't seem to find a God that I feel would just fit both Hestia and myself.
I hope either Hades or Hephaestus works out well for you Smiley

I'm being pulled in so many dirctions of male Dieties that I believe I'm going to be having to find a female Dieties to balance the other out.
I'm thinking of Persephone , as an counterpart to Hades. (rumor has it she's friends with Hecate) so I feel like this bond can grow. I still need a counterpart for Hecate.. . Still working on this, I feel like he should be a God of nature.. Opposite, but equal.

I need research! The library didn't have much, so I will be seeking out another library.

Pan, Horned God of all that is wild and free, is probably the quintessential God of Nature.

"Pan", in Greek, means "all", or "everything", as in Pantheism, the belief that God is in everything. You can't go far wrong with Good Ol' Pan.

See if you can find "Jitterbug Perfume", by Tom Robbins. It's a novel, but Pan is one of the principal characters, and there's plenty of inspiration in there for religious and philosophical speculation.

Pan also turns up in Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows", in a strangely eerie chapter, "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn", which has very little relevance to the rest of the book, but the author obviously felt that the chapter was somehow important, so it had to be included.

I hope this helps you in your search for deities.

Blessed Be,

Theflyingsorcerer.

Thank you, F. sorcerer. I've read a little of Pan, but I just want to be thorough in my search.
I guess I'm going to too many pantheons and I have overwhelmed myself.
I need to dial it back... And stay with Greek for now.
I appreciate your help.
