Come on, now, yall. Surely you have a true ghost experience or two you'd like to share.  Most of us have had at least one spirit encounter in our lives. Wouldn't you like to share them in our new forum MagickSprite made? Wink

Here is one I have not shared yet (I shared a few in our old forum). My sister's old house (they no longer live there) became haunted after her husband's brother, Jessie, committed suicide in their front yard, in his car. Jessie's spirit was often seen leaning against the kitchen doorframe, as he so often did in life. He was also seen several times, crawling on his hands and knees in the hallway. The shower water also turned on by itself often for no reason. He had stayed with them at times and took showers at their place. I believe he was reaching out to them, to let them know he was sorry for what he did, that he didn't really mean to die. And to let then know he is still here. He shot himself in the stomach with a .22, but the bullet ricochetted off of his rib and pierced his heart. He did this right in front of my brother-in-law and died right there, while drunk and pining over a woman who had left him. It was a total shock and loss for our whole family. Jessie was very much loved by us.

I can tell you that every night at around 1:30 am, which is the time he did it, you could sit in the front room of their house and hear a gunshot, then dogs barking, then sirens. I have heard it myself, and it brought tears of fear and disbelief to my eyes.

Does anyone else have a story or two you would like to share with us?

Not exactly a ghost story, but pretty cool and creepy at the same time:
I have some friends that live on this country road on the OR coast.  There's an old house along the way, near to the river, and a family used to live there until the grandmother died or something, and they moved away.  They house burned down at one point and they rebuilt a big barn, and lived in there.  There's also an outhouse.  The weird and cool thing is, the house is totally untouched.  There are two cars out front (windows shot out), an old light post that turns on green at night (kind of creepy when you see it through the forest), dirty dishes in the sink, messages on the answering machine, food in the fridge (smells horrible  Smiley), letters on the bulletin board, shoes by the door, games in the loft, a bike overgrown by ivy, etc.  I could go on.  Also, in the outhouse are bibles, programs from church services, etc.  It's not actually haunted, but it almost feels as though it is, because they left so much of theirselves behind in their belongings.  You can read their letters, look at their clothes, see what books they liked, read their Sunday school notes, etc.  It's amazing to explore, but also creepy, just because of the realism of it.  Anyways, the parents get mad if we go in there, so it also has that "forbidden fruit" appeal.  It's an awesome old house.
Whew!

That is so weird. It sounds like they just sort of left overnight. That would really be creepy to see. Wish I could!

I know, it is.  I think they moved up the coast about 40 miles, but just out of curiousity I've been trying to find info on them over the internet, because it's just so weird, and they didn't seem like a family that would just up and leave.  Hm...

I've told this one here, before, but it's true, and is still so strong in my mind.  So...

When I was in the 6th grade, right around Valentines day, there was a horrible accident, in which 4 local teens were killed, only 1 survived.  They had been drag racing on a highway that went from White Plains, N.Y. , into Port Chester, N.Y.  The bridge that they hit still bares the blue paint from the car.

Everbody heard about it, the car was displayed at the high school the victims attended, I guess as a warning.  sick stuff.

Time went by, I was about to begin Junior High school, I had a dream.   I dreamed that I met a girl, older than me.  Very pretty.   I was following her to a house, she climbed the stairs to the house and opened the front door.  I walked in.  I was standing in a living room, my eyes were drawn to the fireplace.  Above the fireplace was a mantle, with framed photographs on top of it.    One of the photo's were of the girl who led me to the house, the other's were of babies.  One baby picture looked older to me, one looked recent, yet the babies appeared to be the same.
Next, a little girl entered the room, she raised her arms, I picked her up and she kissed me on the cheek.  I woke up.

So, I went to my first day of junior high, very nervous.  All of us were seated in the autotori um, waiting for our instructions- -homerooms, etc.  I was seated next to a girl with long red hair, ,her name was Jeri.  We kind of hit it off, I found out that she lived very near my grandmother, we arranged to meet each other after school, go to her house and hang out.

So, after school, we met at the flagpole as planned.  And walked to her house.  When we got to the house, I recognized it right off, it was the house in my dream.  Jeri opened the front door, I walked in, immediately noticed a fireplace, with a mantle that held photographs- -the same as in my dream.

A little girl came out of the kitchen, held her arms up to me.  I lifted her into my arms and she kissed me.  The mother appeared, had a look of shock on her face, said that the little one was terribly shy, and that she was amazed at what just had happened.
I told Jeri about my dream, about the girl in my dream who'd led me to the house.

Jeri started to cry.  The girl in my dream had been Jeri's sister, Vicky.  Vicky was one of the people killed in that accident, months before.

Jeri's baby sister was a dead ringer for her deceased older sister, they appeared Identical as baby's, as in the pictures on the mantel.

Years later, like 5 years ago,  I was back in my home town, went to the library and was able to see the High school yearbook, for the year in which Vicky was to have graduated, I was able to xerox Vicky's picture, and a poem that was written about her.

I love this girl.

That's an incredible story, Alison. It's really incredible. The wreck must have really effected you on a deep level. And for the girl to know that you were going to become friends with her sister...Or for YOU to know you were going to become friends with her...? That is just really amazing.

One of the boys killed in the wreck had been a member of the church that my family attended, aside from him, I didn't know the others.
When I had the dream, I saw the deceased "Vicky" clear as day, so when in reality, I was standing in her home looking at the photo's on the mantle, I knew immediately who she was.
The baby sister is grown now, my cousin is a friend of hers, he's told me that she wants to meet next time I'm in town, my cousin had told her about the dream.  I look forward to meeting with her.

Good question, Pit. I know that Jessie did seem to lurk around my sister's house for the rest of the time that they lived there. Don't know if he is still there, or not. One thing is, this happened about 25 years ago. They have been gone from that house about 18 years now. I can't believe how time gets by...

My cousin Timmy committed suicide in 1999. But, he lived alone in an apartment, where he shot himself, so if he is still there, we don't know about it. I do know that he was never spotted at my grandmother's old house, where he grew up. Which really suprises me, to tell ya the truth. I go back to her house in my sleep so often, it has become second nature to me. When I am awake, I am here. When I am asleep, I am there. I have two homes. My heart is there, at my Granny's house.

If my spirit gets stuck in this plain, trapped in some neverending memory, I hope it is there that I will live out my forever--in the 1970's. When even the worst of times--and they got pretty bad for us--are better than today. I wish I could take my kids back to her house, in that time, and show them what good times really are.

I have an experience. It's not all that creepy though.
At my mothers current home there is a spirit that likes things open.
My room was in the basement and everytime I would go to my room the door was open.  I know I closed the door and I even checked the latch and hinges a couple of times to try and explain why the door kept opening.  I even watched it open one time.  Also the kitchen cabinets were open all the time.  I haven't seen this happen since I moved out of there.  It doesn't happen when I go to visit.  I used to joke aroung saying "I have a pet ghost." Every time I would come upstairs and shut the door it would open not long after.  people would see this and be startled.  They would be like "who else is down there?"  I would say "Oh, it's just our ghost" and laugh at them.

I have an experience I would like to share with you.  My daughter (4 + half) was very sick and was rushed to hospital, I had been there to visit her and was told that she had come through the crisis and was sleeping fine.  We returned home for dinner and was sitting in front of our fire when the room went cold, and on looking up I saw my daughter by the door smiling at me.  I went hysterical and when we phoned the hospital we were told she had just passed at the time I had seen her!  I have seen her numerous times since then normally when someone has passed, or when I need some big group hugs etc.  There is no fear in her visits and she leaves with a feeling of unbelievable love.  She is like our real angel on earth!  I have seen plenty ghosts, but this one is special, and we have tried to let her know she needs to go on as there must be things she has to do etc. but for years she would pop-up.  It has been now 20 years since we saw her last, but she introduced us to another angel almost as though she was handing over the reins of protection to someone she could trust.
Blessing to you all!
