I'm a fellow Wiccan first and foremost at core, of the Alexandrian tradition, but am also a Gaelic Traditionalist by worldview&personal practice, as well as being a Thelemite&Freemason on the side which I interpret more philosophically than religiously. I have been looking into various forms of modern paganism for a while now. I've belonged to several sites since the mid 90s but it seems like many of the sites or groups I belonged to in the beginning dried up and blew away for some reason...

Hi to everyone old and new.   My name is James.   I've chosen Abracadabra as my screen name for this forum, but I go by Sweet Dreamer on other forums.

I have a deep interest in shamanic journeying (thus the name Sweet Dreamer), and I also have an interest in spirit invocations, evocations, and the phenomenon of spiritual communique in general.

My life's path has been long.  Began life as a Christian by birth, soon became a firm non-believer in that mythology.  Journeyed through many the faces of Buddhism and Taoism.  And finally ended up focusing on the traditions and rituals of Witchcraft introduced to me in a meaningful way by a solitary witch.  I have since become interested in both Witchcraft and Faery lore.

As strange as this may sound I am also highly educated in the sciences, and I have been deeply involved in science and technology throughout my entire education and career.  I'm retired now.   I personally see no conflict between scientific knowledge and a potential spiritual essence of reality. 

Having said that, I confess that my interest and 'beliefs' in Witchcraft and magick are indeed faith-based.  I also discuss these things from a very pragmatic point of view sometimes.  Not exactly a 'skeptical' point of view, just a 'practical' point of view.   

I'm looking forward to hearing other people's experiences concerning shamanic journeying, spirit communique, and other topics as well, such as concepts of consciousness maps like the Qabalah which is another interest of mine.

Sorry for the long intro, but I'd also like to add that I'm interested in playing music.  I'm currently learning to play Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Trumpet, and Keyboard.   And yes, that kind of over-kill is typical of how I do things.   Toss some songwriting and poetry in with that, and I guess that's about it.
