Just what I said.

Do Solitary Eclectic Wiccans exist and what are the guidelines for Solitary Eclectics if there are any?

Sunset

PS. This might cause another popularity contest, err, debate. But bring it on.

I'd be willing -as a solitary eclectic- to join this conversation if you could give the attitude a rest.

There are eclectic Wiccans, Pagans, and music lovers....Being an "eclectic" is just being open to implementing all avenues and incorporating them into your beliefs...I love all forms of music..so I am an eclectic music lover..I also believe that God..by any other name is still God..and why I am an eclectic Pagan is because I believe that there is a Goddess as well...and in all the things that Lark had mentioned in her list below.....would suggest as well that I am an eclectic wiccan. I completed the self -dedication ritual, and I am furthering my knowledge by a coven I have recently found here in Iceland. I have not decided yet, if I want to be coven wiccan...But, I will make my decision when the time is right...Until then, I am a student who is learning..and growing. I understand that you are a Solitary Eclectic Wiccan as well, and that is great.... Smiley

Conceive of God in terms of universal Nature--a nature God in whom we really live and move and have our being, with who our relation is as intimate and constant as that of the babe in its mother’s womb, or the apple upon the bough.  This is the God that science and reason reveal to us--the God we touch with our hands, see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and from whom there is no escape, who is, indeed, from everlasting to everlasting.

yeah, i'm a solitary eclectic wiccan. i don't really want to join a coven, out of fear i might get in a strange one (i'm not saying all covens are strange, but i've heard of controlling covens).

Why they most certainly do! I, myself, being a solitary Wiccan would be totally lost if I were to be told that we didn't. Let's break this down...there are Wiccans (check). There are solitary Wiccans (check). There are eclectic Wiccans (check). So there would obviously be eclectic Wiccans who don't belong to a coven, therefore, solitary.

And personally, I don't believe that there are any guidelines to be a solitary, eclectic Wiccan, since Wicca is such a personal religion. Obviously, you would need to follow the Rede, not belong to a coven, and not consider yourself a member of a specific Wiccan tradition, and I'd say you'd pretty much fit the description.

As an afterthought, there are the 12 Principles of Wiccan Belief set down by the Council of American Witches in 1974, which basically outline what most Wiccans believe in a way that's a little more specific than the Rede...but I never really shaped my beliefs upon what some people created 30 years ago.

Add another to the count.  I am studying with a small group but we all have different paths.  My actual rituals are done alone.

Add ANOTHER one to yoru count! *jumps up and down and waves!* I have been to one group ritual and that wasn't the main coven, that was with the Derbyshire Pagans, they have coven meetings on seperate days.
