Hi All,

I chose the name ShadowLight coz I believe in duality, in Balance. I was raised a Catholic (baptized as an infant but have not gone through confirmation as I do not feel the calling. I'm Eclectic and have been practicing the craft for about 10 years. I am a solitary practitioner but I do have like minded friends as well. Oh and for those who do not know me, I'm from Singapore  Tongue

I chanced upon this site in sept 07 (hmmm almost a year  Tongue).  I'm glad I did as I've made quite a few friends in here not to mention learnt quite a bit. To be honest, I joined a few forums but this is the ONLY one I feel like pretty much everyone is a family, no matter where we come from, what culture were we brought up in. I also like the fact that we have a section for creative people to share their amazing works of art & photography Oh and amazing poems/poetry too everyone here is just so talented. What can I say? I like it here....  Grin

Brightest Blessings

This forum is Very important to me...It has a great Host..Sprite...who serves us delicious cocktails of ideas and lets us mingle around with each other, bouncing philosophies and debates over the volleyball ball net of his domain.

I am Polaris, The north star, The star that you look to for the light to guide you home, My downfall in life is I care so much about every living thing that I always have to guide them home and fix them...*coldplay song now safely installed* Wink

When I eat at the buffet of religions, I never choose only "vegetables", or only "meat"..I fix me a plate of each and everything that I find tasty.

My main interests however, is astrology, meditation, science, reading Runes....and nature...and I am a philosophy and history geek Smiley

I really look forward each day to meeting my friends on this forum...I am thankful to be part of it Cheesy

Kudos for starting this thread!! It is really great to hear about some of the great minds of this forum.
I chose the name DivineMsM because I believe that every single one of us has a spark of the Divine beings inside of us. And I like the Bette Midler (sp?) reference in that she has managed to pick herself up by her own bootstraps everytime life knocks her down and go on. That's me. I spend about a minute whining and then pull up my big-girl panties and move on.
I found this site over the spring of this year. It never really dawned on me to search the internet for information on Wicca. I had become so used to digging through books and bookstores for every little morsel. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I found everyone sitting around the campfire here!!!
In the spring of 1986, I was 16 and my grandmother died. On her way to the otherside, she stopped by for a chat. It was the most jarring and disturbing experience I had ever had, like someone had hooked up jumper cables to my soul (best discription I've got). I didn't have anyone in my life I could talk to about it. The following week, I saw an ad in a local paper for a psychic fair. I cashed my paycheck and was at the door the very first day. I found the nicest looking lady I could find, pulled her aside and told her what happened in between sobs. She patted me on the head and handed me a stack of books on channelling, meditation and Wicca. She told me that there is nothing wrong with me (i was afraid I was crazy) or what had occurred, and that if I read the books I would understand. I wish I could remember her name as she set me on my path. I initiated myself at imbolic in 1988, and again in 2001.
I am now almost 38. I still hate channelling. I've had several more experiences with the departed, but I understand them better now. I passed this ability on to my youngest daughter, who I was able to help through it (she doesn't like it either). I love being able to connect on this forum with people who can understand the path I am on. Nice to know I'm not alone.
To Sprite and all the Mods, my humblest respect and deepest gratitude.

Since i posted this thread, i have had a name change. I have gone from being Fire_Phoenix to

Citrine Imix  Smiley

Citrine is a form of naturally heated Quartz and among my favourite and cherised crystals.

Imix is a Mayan word meaning sea-serpant, and symbolically means water.

I felt these paired up beautifully

Well to kick things off I'll tell you what my name means, it is just my nickname you see my full name is Dominick and when I signed up for this site I didn't want to put a name that had any special meaning too it I just wanted people on here to know who I was so I figured my nickname pretty much did that.

Now as for the path I follow well I am a solitary, eclectic, wiccan and I've been studying (and slightly practicing by doing such things as praying to the God and Goddess,meditating,etc...) for a few months now and I have yet to perform a self initiation but I think I may do that this upcoming Samhain.

And the way I found this site is I was just doing some google searches for wicca,paganism,witchcraft,etc... and I just came upon the site on accident really. And to be honest i thought it was just another silly fluffy bunny site (I know sorry) until i started to read some of the posts and info then I said "well why not sign up it can't hurt" so I did and here I am now!

This site has really grown on me everyone on here is so nice, intelligent and understanding it's just great. Cheesy

I started useing Ladywolf here and it has stuck. It is something i use everywhere now. As for thsi sight i found it on google i think. Its been awhile ago now. But i had found 3 or 4 other sights and joined them all. But the other sights had fighting and i got jumped on one after my first thread. ok, my name on here is Aya K. Aya is my nickname that sorta grew up to being a name that fits better on the one on the birth certificate. To my friends, (in real time, i dont know about here since i am kinda new) it means that even though i am flamboyant, passionate, and energetic i am always there and caring. K is for my last name...that one is boring
The forum means a lot to me since i live in a really catholic town only a few people know about me being wiccan, and sometimes i would get a lonely feeling since the nearest coven is 4 hrs away. So I just like being able to see that im not alone, cheesy yes i know

Well Borne is a king out of a book i read and he died and i was upset about it so it is now my internet name in one form or another.

I came across the site a month or so ago and it feelt great so i signed up and it now feels like another home away from home where i can talk to people as there isn't anyone in my village that is wiccan/pagan. and i now have got much more information on wicca and i have now decided to do my self dedication on samhain

Yes u can Cit! lolz.

Haha....im Luna_girl. I chose it because I have always found a fasination with nature and especially the moon. Also, the moon was thought to bring upon insanity and i can be really crazy.....almost all the time. And girl cuz im a girl. I just wanted to add something at the end.
I know.....my name is soooo original........um not. haha....i love it though. It describes me so well!

I descovered Wicca when I was 13. I haven't done an actual initiation (or whatever it is called) ceremony yet.....being at home wih my parents and all. But I study like crazy! I have been studying for a year and I dedicate most of my time to herbs and healing powers (so my parents won't notice). I hope that when I leave the house I can do a real ceremony! I will tell you where I go 2 college when I do so anyone in that area who feels like taking on a newbie talk to me!

Hiya.

The name's EtheldredaSevera. My full craft name is Etheldreda Anima Severa. The Etheldreda part comes from the root of my mundane name, and Anima Severa is more of a title. it means "Stern Soul" and I just like the ring it has to it. The word Anima itself has a special meaning to me. It represents the female force in the cosmos, the divine will, and what many of us think of as the Goddess. It is also the feminine force in our own psychic microcosm.

I took up an interest in the Craft around age 8, of my own accord. One of my friends got into Wicca, and talked to me about it. She was a bit fluffy in retrospect, but I, as an 8-year-old kid interested in the supernatural, was all ears. I remember her Book of Shadows was one of those black paper notebooks that she wrote in with gel pens. I saw her correspondences, and she told me about the Rede and how anything I sent out would come back threefold. We did circle work and spellwork, and she taught me the absolute basics of what was to become the framework of my own path twelve years later.

I didn't really consider the path again until about four years later. I was twelve and had recently started to become aware of my spiritual powers. I was at the house of a friend of my father's, and one area of the house had a particularly stagnant aura. When I felt it I felt like I was hallucinating, and everything started closing in on me. That was also the day I did my first banishing spell. One of the girls living there gave me a little plastic sand art bottle before they moved that day. I imparted my will into that sand art bottle, and told it to protect me from those energies. The spell worked.

I later learned about the phenomenon of indigo children. As I continued to research, it was little-known to me that my parents were, unspurred by me, also researching it. We both came to the same conclusion: I was an indigo child. I don't want anyone to believe that I, as an indigo, am in any way peaceful or accepting. I've largely molded myself into the shape of a warrior, using the abilities granted to me to carve out a new path for the future to follow.

As for WitchWay and WitchForum, I came across it when I was looking for precisely what this place is: A pagan forum. I jumped right in and started chatting, where I met my dear friend Meg, or as we know her, meaganwas.

My personal path is a hodgepodge of different paths, including Wicca, Hellenism, Christianity (both Gnostic and regular) Chaos Magic, Ceremonial Magic and a little Shinto thrown in.

matt, j00 rawk for starting this thread  \m/ ^_^ \m/

i heard TONS of love and gratitude for sprite just now, that RAWKS.  we all must bombard sprite with gross amounts of love and all that blahdeblah stuffs.  (i mean it.  bombard him now! XD)  i really look up to him, he's one of my very very good friends, and he deserves all the best. karma. ever. (a la comicbook guy)

this was the first ever site/forum/chat i came to when i started feeling drawn to paganism.  the first, and the last.  IS instantly became my home.  i mostly chatted at first, posting on the boards some, mostly in the helping hands thread.  i was (am?) going through a very rough time to the point i was suicidal many many times, and just reaching out for help in here, knowing it's not wicca-related, helped me immensely.  i didn't get chastised for 'abusing' the thread, in fact my framily (haha i made a new word friends + famile = framily) encouraged it.

when the chat had to shut down for awhile, i kind of fell off from posting much, i'd lurk but not post much.  then they told me chat was coming back up i jumped back in.  now this place means more to me than ever since i've "returned".

mad kudos and karma to sprite and the mods.

love, aranel.

This has really turned into a wonderful thread. I've learned so much about the others here on the site. Which is wonderful considering we all share this internet "home"  Grin

I wish even more would answer!

Anyway, it occurred to me that this has been one of my favorite posts to read new responses in, so K+ Citrine! You deserve it! Anything that brings us together while simultaneously letting us get to know each other better is deserving of some good Karma!
